As described on the home page, Palantir Crossroads is made as a community and place to bring people together who are both fans of Star Trek and Lord of the Rings. Primarily, though, it is to bring the two worlds together in a seamless and interesting way for fanfiction authors and readers as well as artists of fanart pieces. The second purpose of the fanlisting is to encourage others to seek out creative ways to entertain and enjoy through fanart and fanfiction crossovers.
About the Creator
TrekQueen has been a long time fan of both Star Trek and Lord of the Rings that began in her youth. Yet, many people have probably been fans as long as she has been alive! Fanfiction is a hobby she enjoys greatly and wanted to spread her love for both fandoms in the crossover form. Knowing she was not the only one, she sought to create a place where all could come together.
Other fandom interests outside of Star Trek and Lord of the Rings, that TrekQueen enjoys and writes include Final Fantasy X and HouseMD.
